Thanks for inviting me to join this blog. I’m a digital immigrant, so this is a bit of an experiment. Thinking about it though, I guess I’ve been sending blog-like messages over LIBIDAHO for several years. Back in 2006 and 2007, when I was active in the ILA’s Advocacy and PR Committee, periodically I sent out “Library Advocacy Tips”, which were then saved on the ILA website (http://www.idaholibraries.org/view/speakup). In those “old days”, the messages consisted of comments on magazine articles, web links, and the occasional blog posting. They were announcements, without any way to post a reply. The message about advocacy did get through, because now many librarians are using LIBIDAHO to point out local news about their libraries and staff. My hope for the c3library blog is that it will spark discussions among librarians and our patrons (or users, customers, whichever word you prefer).

Actually, ICFL isn’t inviting the public onto C3–although they could stumble on to it and leave a comment. But you are right on as this being a place where the Idaho library community can share their advocacy challenges and successes!
In fact, speaking of successes, after yesterday’s SW ILA Spring Regional presentation, six people signed up to become C3 bloggers!
I guess the public input part could come when we set up a blog at the CSI Library.
