New Media Focus Group

How far have we come?

Miles & miles & miles!
We are now showing our ICFL Alpha Site off during ILA spring presentations and the response has been positive.  Without the help and critiquing from the focus group (drawn from the Idaho Library Community) our site wouldn’t be so user friendly.  We are looking at soft launch in September and a physical and virtual ribbon cutting in October (say, right around the time ILA’s annual conference is held).

An update:  we are still working on the front page photo.  As the focus group suggested, we are looking for a male/female who are having fun at the library (using a computer, naturally).  Here is one thing to keep in mind (thanks Michael & Eric), the folks in the photo can’t be “looking” at the viewer because it distracts the user…

One Response to “New Media Focus Group”

  1. I love being in a (virtual) space with others who are enthusiastic about things 2.0. Thanks again ICFL! The presentation was very well done, Wimba was new to me and a lot of fun. Last year, I participated in the wonderful wiki based “New Literacies for Teens and Technology” class taught by Linda Braun. I feel like that class brought me up to speed 2.0 wise and I’ve used what I’ve learned (and kept learning) daily in my work. So now I’m drawn by the library world 2.0 beacon every time I see it flashing. What did I miss by leaving 10 minutes early?
